In our ongoing series, “Real World Catholic Leaders,” we profile lay Catholics who have made a significant impact on their community or profession while proudly living their Catholic faith. We believe it is a powerful witness for the “people in the pews” to hear from their peers who have conquered the obstacles life has thrown at them, and gone on to succeed in their professional, personal, and spiritual lives. Our “Real World Catholic Leader” guest today is Dr. Nancy Blattner, the president of Caldwell College. She is the first lay president in the Catholic Dominican college’s history. At Caldwell College, among her many activities, she has overseen the opening of the college’s state of the art Center for Autism and Applied Behavior Analysis and started a very successful Bachelor of Science in Nursing) program. Service is one of the college’s pillars and one of Dr. Blattner’s passions. She has established Caldwell Day, an annual day of campus- wide volunteerism serving non-profits, churches and community groups in Essex County and the state. This May she led a group of students to Belize where they took part in a service learning trip. With us today to talk about being president of a Catholic college and the importance of giving back to the community and world, is Nancy Blattner! The Busted Halo Show with Father Dave Dwyer is on SiriusXM Satellite Radio, Channel 129, Monday through Thursday, 7:00pm to 10:00pm and Fridays from 2:00pm to 5:00pm Eastern.
