A listener named Jim calls in and asks, "Why is there an age limit to become a priest?" Jim explains that he applied to seminary, but was told that men have to be ordained before they turn 50 years old. Father Dave explains that age restrictions vary depending upon the diocese, but typically occur because priests would likely retire shortly after being ordained at an older age. Sometimes, however, bishops will make an exception. Original Air 07-11-17 |
